Science of Synthesis Version 3.9

Release date: March 2010

Thieme is pleased to announce that Science of Synthesis Version 3.9 is now available. Science of Synthesis, a comprehensive critical treatment of synthetic organic chemistry, is one of the most authoritative, in-depth information resources available on synthetic methodology.

The electronic information resource now contains 45 volumes, out of what will eventually be a total of 48 volumes. This upgraded version has a total of over 252,000 reactions, with over 14,000 new reactions, 1,156,858 structures, 28,497 methods, 23,089 experimental procedures and holds significant synthetic methods for a wide range of classes of compounds.

New content consists of:

“We are very pleased to be adding three additional volumes in this release covering a wide spectrum of organic reactions. For example, peroxides play an important role both in chemistry research and in industrial production processes; aromatic compounds are central to the development of dyestuffs, pharmaceuticals, and plastics; and 1,3-dienes are considered to be an important class of compounds in organometallic chemistry and organic synthesis," says M. Fiona Shortt de Hernandez, Managing Editor Science of Synthesis.

The information resource consists of six categories, of which the first four categories are complete.
